Monthly Support Groups

At Heartland, we reach out to the community and bring in resources that will enrich the lives of people with PD and their Care Partners and promote social connection.

On the 4th Wednesday of each month, join us 11:30-1:30 for fellowship, food, and a variety of educational and wellness activities. Our events range from professionals in the community speaking about PD related topics to Horticulture specialists, Football Tailgates, and even an Elvis Impersonator!

Heartland provides the main dish each month and each member is invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share with the group.

Care Partner Specific Support Groups

Also on the 4th Wednesday of each month we host two Care Partner Specific Support Groups.

10:00am - 11:00am Women’s Care Partner Support Group

Location: Waterloo Library Meeting Room

Facilitated by spouses of people with PD, this women’s group meets to receive PD specific resources, share experiences and support one another during the journey of life as a loved one caring for a person with PD.

10:30am-11:30am Men’s Care Partner Support Group

Location: Heartland Neurological Private Treatment Room

Facilitated by Pastor Richard Dungan, this Male Care Partner Group meets to receive PD specific resources, discuss experiences and support one another as a male Care Partner of a loved one with PD.

Fun Social Outings

Be on the look out for other social opportunities throughout the year including our monthly Boxing Training at Bud Crawford’s B&B Academy, Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day Walk, and yearly Christmas Party.
